Since the inception of the Waitangi Tribunal the New Zealand Maori Council has played a key role

The New Zealand Maori Council often takes cases to the Waitangi Tribunal on kauapa related to mostly social, cultural and economic policies. Over the years this has seen the Council play a major role in claims such as Radio Spectrum, Oranga Tamariki, Health, Taonga, Housing and much more.
